Mahogany Avro Lancaster Wooden Model
The Avro Lancaster is arguably the most famous British bomber of the Second World War. Powered by four Rolls-Royce Merlin engines, the Lancaster delivered two thirds of the total bombs dropped by the RAF over Europe.
The Avro Lancaster famously bombed dams in the Ruhr Valley using the bouncing bomb. It also delivered food parcels during Operation Manna and brought home British POWs as part of Operation Exodus.
A grand total of 7,377 Lancasters were built with over 4,000 of these assembled at Woodford.
