BAe ATP (Advanced Turbo Prop) (2)

(Colour Photographs Top Right & Left) - The first ATP fuselage arrives at Woodford on schedule. However, the decision to go for both European JAR and US FAR from the outset would make the ATP anything but a 748 derivative. It was becoming very much a new aircraft type. One innovation was to have electrical installations on the ATP assembled away from the aircraft and introduced into the aircraft in a single process.

(Colour Photographs Bottom Right & Left) - ATP Set 1 was transferred to Flight Sheds on 30th May 1986 for engine runs and pre-flight checks prior to flight. The aircraft flew as planned on 6th August 1986 the certification programme began.
