AVRO AIR FAIR
'WINGS & WHEELS'
MBAT-428.jpg

Sat 9th & Sun 10th September 2023

What's happening?

Here it comes again - our ever popular two day Wings & Wheels event! Wipe the tears from your eyes as the BBMF Lancaster flies overhead, and feel that adrenaline rush as the Avro Anson does her stint especially for us.

As usual, we'll be hosting classic vehicles, military vehicles and not forgetting a fabulous array of motorbikes, from the vintage BSAs to the cool Bimotas!

We'll have live engine runs from an Anson engine - stand back, and hold onto your hats!

This year there will be much more going on in the Vulcan Park as we now have a lot more space to use, thanks to Redrow's generosity. The static Spitfire will be situated near to our magnificent Vulcan - what a sight that will be! There will be music from 90 Proof on the Saturday, and on Sunday, the infamous Monkey Harris band. There'll be plenty to eat and drink, so bring a blanket or folding chairs and enjoy the atmosphere. Dogs welcome in outside areas, but please keep them on a short lead (water always avaliable).

The main food and drink providers will be Azulito Coffee, The Thirsty Filly, French Connection, and Mr Whippy Ice Cream and Ape About Pizza - all of whom have supported our events since the first one in 2017 - we love you!

Additional food is offered by:

The Manc Chef, with his epic pies and delicious sausage rolls

The Harts Pudding Company - scrumptious puddings like your granny used to make

Flossy Pops Candy Company will be there to keep the children happy with popcorn, candyfloss and many other delights.

There's even treats for our four legged friends from Buzz Bites.

Statement Artworks will be selling their hilarious, but classy, modern retro posters.

Beautiful aromas will be wafting from the stall of Scented and More.

Oleilu will have their decorative and novelty candles on sale (we'll need to keep them out of the blazing sun we're hoping for!)

Woodford may be a long way from the sea but the Manchester Branch of the RNLI will be there to raise awareness of their valuable service, and to raise much needed funds.

Stockport Radio Society 1920 will be with us again - go and say hi and see what they do!

We have a talented facepainter for the kids (or big kids) - Rachel from The Clever Creations produces some great designs.

Last but certainly not least, we'll be joined by the dynamic Ailsa McPhee for her Daily Dance.

Join us for a fun day out, and help to keep your Museum running!
