The Third Fire station was built in 1990. It saw the last of our civil aircraft (BAE SYSTEMS RJX) and the last of our large Military aircraft (Nimrod MRA4). This Station was also an important training facility.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue service and their Ambulance Services did a lot of training with the Woodford Rescue and Fire Fighting Service (RFFS Service). Operational till the site and runway was closed in 2011.
