HS801 Nimrod MR1 Second Batch

MR1 1974-77 & Conversions to MR2 1975 - 85.

In order to bring the RAF Nimrod Squadrons up to strength a further eight Nimrod MR1's were ordered. In the event five were built to MR1 standard (XZ280 - 283 & XZ285) the sixth (XZ284) came in time to be delivery to the Nimrod MR2 standard.

(Colour Photograph Bottom Left) - XZ284 was the only one of Batch Two to be completed as a HS801 Nimrod MR2.

34 HS801 Nimrod MRI's were converted to MR2.
