Jessie climbs the Yellow Stairs

Last Sunday Jessie Warburton became the oldest person to climb the stairs up into Vulcan XM602 nose section since the Museum opened two weeks ago. Jessie is 90 years old and worked at Woodford along with her father before her. Her first job at the age of 16 was towing Lancasters. When she took her very first one out of the hangar the door was opened by her father. When he found out it was her he said "If I'd known I'd have worn brown trousers".

The picture shows her next to the Lancaster exhibit in the display hall with her hand on a Lancaster control column.
