OPENING HOURS & BOOKING

When are you open?

The Museum is open every Saturday from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Visitors must pre-book tickets for one of the following two hour time slots:

10:00 am - 12:00 pm

12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Can I just turn up on the day?

No. All visitors must book their tickets in advance for a two hour slot. Advance booking closes 2 hours before each time slot.

How do I book tickets?

Tickets can be booked online HERE. We regretfully cannot accept bookings over the phone at this time.

You will get an e-mail confirmation. Please bring this with you either as a print out or on your mobile device.

I haven't received my e-mail booking confirmation?

Please check that it hasn't gone into your spam folder. If you are still having problems please e-mail us at avroheritageshop@gmail.com.

Do I have a limited time to spend at the Museum?

Unfortunately yes. You are permitted to stay for up to 2 hours from the stated arrival time on your ticket.

Can I arrive earlier than the time shown on my ticket?

No. However, you may arrive up to one hour after the arrival time shown on your ticket.

Do I need to book tickets for children under 11 or carers?

Yes. Children under 11 years of age and carers are granted free admission to the Museum. There are free ticket options available on the online booking system. Please book a ticket for every person in your party so that we don't exceed our capacity.

I am a Friend of the Museum, do I still need to book?

Yes. There is an option for a free friends ticket on the online booking system. Please bring your Friends card with you.

Is there a booking fee?

No.

What if I miss my time slot?

We will do our best to fit you in if we can. However, if the Museum is at full capacity we will be unable to admit you.

How do I pay for shop and café purchases?

Please use contactless payment methods. We accept Visa, Visa Debit and Mastercard.

Will I get a refund if the Museum is closed on the day I book for?

You will automatically get a refund if we have to close the Museum. Please allow a few days for the refund to appear in your bank account.

ATTRACTIONS

Which parts of the Museum are open?

  • The main exhibition hall.

  • Vulcan Park

  • The Lancaster Cinema Room.

  • The Vulcan Café (selling hot & cold drinks and prepackaged snacks)

  • The Shop

There will also be demonstrations of the Nimrod submarine hunting station and regular talks by an ex Vulcan pilot throughout the day.

Which parts of the Museum remain closed?

  • Cockpit interiors and cockpit tours

  • Flight Simulator

  • Virtual Reality Suite

Are there toilets on site?

Yes. Please use the hand sanitiser provided before and after using the toilet. Our hand dryers are disabled and we have provided paper towels instead. Our toilets are thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

Yes. There are picnic tables in Vulcan Park and you are welcome to sit on the grassed areas. Please follow social distancing guidelines and remain in your booked groups. Please take your rubbish home or place it in the bins provided. Please do not bring alcoholic drinks onto the site.

Are you running group visits?

No. We are not currently accepting bookings for group visits.

Are you running school visits?

No. We are not currently accepting bookings for school visits.

Are you running car club photoshoots?

No. We are not currently accepting bookings for car club photoshoots.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Do I have to wear a face covering?

Visitors must wear a face covering at all times when you are at the Museum (except thosee persons who are exempt). Face coverings can be removed inside the café. All staff members will be wearing a face covering.

Are you observing social distancing guidelines?

Yes, we are observing social distancing of 2 metres across the Museum and our site. There is signage and markings throughout the Museum similar to that used in supermarkets.

Do you have hand sanitiser?

Yes, we have hand sanitiser stations situated throughout the Museum and we strongly encourage visitors to use them frequently.

Is the Museum cleaned regularly and thoroughly?

Yes. The Museum is thoroughly cleaned before opening and again after closing. All surfaces are regularly cleaned throughout the day with anti-bacterial wipes/sprays.
