OPENING HOURS & BOOKING

When are you open?

The Museum is open every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Can I just turn up on the day?

Yes. Tickets can be purchased advance or on the day.

How do I book tickets?

Tickets can be booked online HERE. We regretfully cannot accept bookings over the phone at this time.

You will get an e-mail confirmation. Please bring this with you either as a print out or on your mobile device.

I haven't received my e-mail booking confirmation?

Please check that it hasn't gone into your spam folder. If you are still having problems please e-mail us at avroheritageshop@gmail.com.

Do I have a limited time to spend at the Museum?

No. Visitors can spend as long as they like at the Museum.

Do I need to book tickets for children under 11 or carers?

Yes. Children under 11 years of age and carers are granted free admission to the Museum. There are free ticket options available on the online booking system. 

I am a Friend of the Museum, do I still need to book?

Yes. There is an option for a free friends ticket on the online booking system. Please bring your Friends card with you.

Is there a booking fee?

No.

How do I pay for shop and café purchases?

We encourage the use of contactless payment methods. 

Will I get a refund if the Museum is closed on the day I book for?

You will automatically get a refund if we have to close the Museum. Please allow a few days for the refund to appear in your bank account.

ATTRACTIONS

Which parts of the Museum are open?

  • The main exhibition hall

  • Cockpit tours (Vulcan, Lancaster replica, VC10, Nimrod subject to availability of trained guides)

  • Vulcan Park

  • Flight Simulator (subject to availability of trained guides)

  • Virtual Reality Suite (subject to availability of trained guides)

  • The Lancaster Cinema Room

  • The Vulcan Café (selling hot & cold drinks and prepackaged snacks)

  • The Shop

There will also be demonstrations of the Nimrod submarine hunting station and regular talks by a retired Vulcan pilot, engineer, or Vulcan specialist throughout the day.

Are there toilets on site?

Yes. Please use the hand sanitiser provided before and after using the toilet. Our hand dryers are disabled and we have provided paper towels instead. Our toilets are thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

Yes. There are picnic tables in Vulcan Park and you are welcome to sit on the grassed areas. Please follow social distancing guidelines and remain in your booked groups. Please take your rubbish home or place it in the bins provided. Alcoholic drinks are not permitted on our premises.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Do I have to wear a face covering?

Wearing a face mask at the personal discretion of visitors and volunteers. Exception: Face masks are mandatory when inside our cockpits.

Are you observing social distancing guidelines?

Covid infection rates remain high following the relaxation of social distancing guidelines. Therefore, the Museum kindly requests visitors to give others space so that everyone may enjoy their visit safely.

Do you have hand sanitiser?

Yes, we have hand sanitiser stations situated throughout the Museum and we strongly encourage visitors to use them frequently.

Is the Museum cleaned regularly and thoroughly?

Yes. The Museum is thoroughly cleaned before opening and again after closing. All surfaces are regularly cleaned throughout the day with anti-bacterial wipes/sprays.
